Famous count Maurice and legendary Casanova visited this glorious Latvian city. It became home to Adolfs Alunans who is considered to be the father of Latvian theater. Particular attention is paid to the activity of A. Alunans as the theater director from 1924 till 1944. The author of the book emphasizes his outstanding contribution to dramatic art of Latvia.
