Vasyl Otkovych (1950-2017) was a member of the Academic Council of the Lviv National Academy of Arts, for many years he headed the State Examination Commissions, was the scientific supervisor of dissertation research, and taught as a professor. Students of LNAM, as well as LDKDUM and Lviv National University. I. Franko, where he was the founder of the Department of Byzantine Studies, is thanked to him for high-quality professional knowledge and for great lessons of civic consciousness and human dignity.
