On the 18th of March 1921 in Riga a peace treaty was concluded to sum up the results of the Soviet Polish War of 1919-1920. The part of Belarus adjoined in compliance with the Treaty of Riga to Poland and which constituted a part of it during 1921-1939 was called Western Belarus. On the other hand, the example of the neighbors Soviet state in Russia provoked mass desorders in the region.
