The book is dedicated to the great Russian Symbolist poet and playwright Vyacheslav Ivanov. It is based on never published documents describing the main stages of his life: close relations with Moscow and St. Petersburg symbolists in the spring of 1903, lectures in Paris in the spring-summer of 1903, communication with Moscow symbolists in 1904, and the death of his wife Lydia Zinovyeva-Annibal.
