Vladislav Glinka (1903-1983) was a great scientist, who worked in many museums and was the chief curator of the Russian Culture History Department of the State Hermitage. The present book consists of memoirs by Glinka (1920s, 1930s, the Leningrad blockade), numerous letters, reviews, comments, as well as of the memoirs by those who knew Glinka in person. It contains lots of illustrations, which include nearly 300 photos, the majority of which are published for the first time.
