Russian researcher V.I.Borisov traces the peculiarities of coming-to-be and development of one of the largest settlements of Kamchatka - Ust'-Kamchatsk Village. The study rests upon the documents from the collections of the State Archive of Kamchatka Region, the Center of Documentation of the Newest History, materials of S.P.Krasheninnikov Regional Library, publications of regional newspapers and memoirs by old natives of the Ust'-Kamchatsk District, gathered during the period from 1985 to 2004.
