The series “Unofficial History of Russia” does not include ordinary historical chronicles. The author uses various materials such as documents, letters, legends, sermons, proverbs and sayings, memoirs by the participants of the events, as well as extracts from works by prominent Russian and foreign historians. The history of the country is represented not as a list of facts, but as a complicated relationship of the historical figures, whose acts, characters and intrigues influenced course of events in the country. The series includes 14 books and covers events from ancient times till 1917. The book “Ordyn Yoke and Formation of Russia” tells about the Russian history in XIIth – mid. XVIth centuries. This was the time of both the strenuous tests and great events, when Russia struggled for independence, defended its religion and collected strength.
