Jan Lazorik, the most important local historian of eastern Slovakia, educator, botanist, ethnographer, folklorist, ethnologist, museum curator and savior of the cultural heritage of our ancestors, lived in Sharis from 1920 to 2015. He left behind a lot of (still unexplored) material regarding the cultural heritage of the Saris region. The book contains a selection of his books that he published during his lifetime. The Saris dialect is translated into Slovak, the book is bilingual. Various topics are intertwined in it, such as customs, superstitions, costumes, children's games, fairy tales and many others. It brings a view (also in the form of more than 600 authentic photographs) of the difficult life of our ancestors as a message to the younger generation.
