The monograph analyses phenomenon of negation in Russian culture. The analysis of place and role of language, and of course such manifestation of their existence as the procedure of negation, testifies the inseparable connection of language with the history of people and its culture. The category of negation is understood and interpreted as a social and cultural dominant determining the spirit of the epoch, its peculiarities and “the face”. Peculiarities, mechanisms, factors off the two-way influence of two fundamental phenomena – culture and language, which at their turn determine “the phenomenon of man”, are revealed. Main attention is given to the peculiarities of the expression “mental”, the ethnos world in the space of verbal and non-verbal language.
