The twentieth century absorbed destructive and creative forces. Its peaks were 1917 and 1945 - the October Revolution and the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. There is an inextricable link between these fateful events. They paved the way for us into the future. It is noteworthy that History chose Russia with its many peoples, including Belarusians, who together with Russians and Ukrainians formed the core of the state and society, to implement the socialist project. And this choice was not accidental. The leading European countries, due to the insurmountable and ever-increasing contradictions of the capitalism that had established itself in them, could not only fulfill this role, but also lay claim to it. Russia, although lagging behind them in many indicators, primarily economic, was strong in another way. It was strong in its special spiritual and moral culture, in which the spiritual quest and values of many peoples found a place. And this moral force, which is the bond of a huge state created over the course of centuries, and which, by virtue of this, could be laid at the foundation of the transformation of the world, was examined by History.
