The plot of this publication is based on a real fact: the assassination attempt on Hitler on July 20, 1944. A specially made explosive device was brought to the Fuhrer's "Wolf's Lair" by Colonel Count Klaus von Stauffenberg. He was part of a group of conspirators, the backbone of which consisted of generals of the Army Reserve Army and some groups of Wehrmacht armies. The putschists intended to remove Hitler, who had not lived up to their expectations, from the political arena, to make peace with the Western countries, and, by ending the bloody war, thus protecting their country and nation from the "red invasion."
A coup called "Operation Valkyrie" failed. But do we all know about it, and did it really happen, as is commonly believed?
