The book by Nikolai Berg (1823 - 1984). His ancestors were Livonian nobles and his father was a chairman of the provincial government in Tomsk. In 1853 he went to war in Sevastopol as a reporter and until the end of the siege was an interpreter. Participated in the Battle of Black River.
