The collection of the articles presents the description of the natural system of the peatbog as a cultural space. The authors of the articles are trying to reveal the reasons for the appearance of complex negative connotations connected with the peatbog, which comes into conflict with its beauty and the economic benefits it entails. The approach to the problems of the peatbog from viewpoints of various scientific disciplines and cultural codes helps to reveal its significance for the Russian Culture. The goal of the authors was to overcome stereotypes in reception of the peatbog for the purpose of advocating it as a positive factor in the human life.
