This book was first published in 1998. It is an original and systematic study of the image of the Other in times of crisis and war and raises the question of the limits of representation such as the genocide of the Jews.
Its pages deal with issues related to the recruitment and literary representation of the war and the genocide of the Jews; the image of the Jew in international and Greek literature in relation to the historical, social and literary contexts is explored; 1945-2010 for the genocide of the Jews; a methodological proposal is also presented for the exploration of the image of the Other in literature, so that it can be useful in general for the study of the image of the foreigner. In its new edition, a section has been added about the image of the Jew in cinema, foreign and Greek, from the beginning of the 20th century until 2015, with an emphasis on the films about the Holocaust.
