From 1983 to 1985, he served in Afghanistan as a correspondent and executive secretary of the newspaper of the 108th Motorized Rifle Division (Bagram). Awarded the medal "For Military Merit".
From 1986 to 2006, he served as a correspondent and head of the combat training department of the newspaper “For the Glory of the Motherland.” Now a lieutenant colonel in the reserve, editor of the information and analytical department of the newspaper “Minskaya Prauda”, member of the Union of Writers of Belarus. Author of two books about Afghanistan - “In War as in War” (Minsk, Svetoch Publishing House) and Forpost (Moscow, Eksmo Publishing House). With the kind permission of the author, Spetsnaz publishes a magazine version of a story about an “Afghan” officer.
