The edition reflects the experience of reconstruction of the social model of the northern country town of the Russian Empire in the XIXth - first quarter of the XXth centuries. The atlas systemizes the results of the complex historical and genealogic research of the population of Kola – administrative centre of the Kola district of Arkhangelsk province, which was one of the biggest settlements in the arctic north in the studied period. The first part of the atlas includes vocabulary with the introductive outline, 244 articles, among them the descriptions of the 149 Kola family groups, 52 personalities and 43 historical and ethnographic categories, and also supplements. The second part of the atlas is presents genealogical schemes of the Kola families and photos.
