The book is focused on the analysis of the little-known events of the Workers' Insurgency in the GDR in 1953, which arouse disputes among researchers and public even today. Was it the first revolt against Stalinism? Or an attempt of the outside forces to use the mistake of the GDR leadership for their own purpose? On the basis of archival documents reflecting the opposition between intelligence services of the USSR, the USA and Germany, England and France the historical events that could have changed the course of history are investigated.
