Nikolay Kotev's book traces the activities of the intelligence organizations of the Great Powers in Bulgaria during the Second World War. Its purpose is to expose the structure, tasks, and some of the most important operations of the Allied and Axis secret services. In the pages of the publication, attention is paid to the British Office of Special Operations (OSO), the American Office of Strategic Services (OSO) - the predecessor of the CIA, the Soviet SMERSH and the German Abwehr, together with its divisions such as the Kriegsorganization and the Klatt Bureau. Along with the various and often complex initiatives of foreign intelligence agencies pursuing the interest of their countries, the way in which the Bulgarian state, in the face of its own intelligence and counter-intelligence, reacts to them is also examined. The activities of the diplomatic missions in Bulgaria and the personal characteristics of individual agents have not been omitted.
