The present book is dedicated to the important problems of the history of Kalmykia of 1941 – 1945. On the basis of numerous archive materials and statistical data the author describes the prewar situation, shows the transformation of economy to support the country’s military needs and the contribution of the Kalmyk people to the defeat of Hitler’s Germany.
