Alexey Yastrebov (1886-1969) was a local historian. The book provides information about parish and house Orthodox churches in Simbirsk from the moment of its foundation to their almost complete closure and destruction in the 1930s. Some churches have been lost forever, they remained only in archival documents and in rare black and white photographs.
