The yearbook presents the results of the Referendum on the membership of the Republic of Lithuania in the European Union, held on 10-11 May, 2003 and the results of the elections to local councils, held on 22 December, 2002. Attention is paid to information on education, public and non-public establishments, such as pre-school establishments, schools for children and juniors, vocational, college type schools, higher schools and schools for adults. In comparison with the previous issues the new topic of information technologies is covered here. The information on the usage of the Internet, computer usage at enterprises, the average number of computers used by public administration, the number of subscribers to cellular mobile telephone systems and digital lines are viewed. The data were obtained from the labor force survey, which is the most reliable way to estimate the situation and changes in the labor market. Standing orders are accepted. Back issues are available.
