The first part of the book contains a translation and commentary of a valuable historical source. The source is a note by two Chinese diplomats of the 13th century about the “Black Tatars” (Mongols) “Hei-da shi lyue”, made by the famous sinologist and Mongolian scholar, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor N. Munkuev (1922-1985). He is also the first researcher to translate from Chinese into Russian chapters 98 and 99 of the official history of China during the reign of the Mongol Yuan dynasty.
