The book contains letters from Nikolai Aleksandrovich Ilyinsky from the Solovetsky correctional labor camp, where he was serving a sentence under Rule 58-8-11.17 of the RFSR Criminal Code by the Decree of the OGPU Collegium of March 16, 1933. The imprisonment involved 10 years of corrective labor. However, after 5 years (November 25, 1937) the case of N.A. Ilyinsky was revised by NKVD. The highest punishment execution was imposed. The verdict was carried out on December 8, 1937.
