The atlas combines the toponymic maps of one part of Samegrelo - Abashi, Martvil, Senak and Chkhorotsku municipalities, which were prepared by Givi Eliava, a historian and ethnographer, the founder of the Martvil Local Lore Museum. This unique material is currently preserved in the same museum. The author's great desire was to publish complete toponymic atlases not only of Samegrelo, but also of all parts of Georgia, but, unfortunately, he was unable to do so.
