The monograph deals with Russian poetry of the first half of the XXth century created by Russian poets who spent long periods of time in Finland or by emigrant poets Ivan Savin, Vera Bulich, Vadim Gardner. The point of view of Finns on Russian poetry is analysed. The role of the Finnish nature and culture in the life and work of Vladimir Solovyov, Nicholas Roerich, Valery Bryusov, Alexandr Blok, Sasha Chorny, Anna Akhmatova is investigated. A separate chapter is devoted to representatives of Russian avant-garde who developed their esthetics "on the Gulf of Finland coast".
