The album is based on the exhibition “Russian interior. Epoch. Fashion. Style”, held in the State Pushkin Museum, where the residential interiors of the Russia in the late XVIIIth – the second third of the XIXth century were reproduced. A comprehensive display of objects of fine and decorative arts, as well as household items is an attempt to return the lost interaction of these things with the real world, to demonstrate their role in the cultural space of the interior of the past centuries. Taking into account the local peculiarity of the exposition, its organizers and artists have tried to show the interior, seen by the eyes of several generations of the residents of Moscow, giving the “personal colour” to the atmosphere of each room.
