The monograph attempts a comparative analysis of the development of the traditional folk dwelling of the Ukrainians of Podillia and the dwellings of other peoples living in the studied territory. Despite the fact that folk housing as an essential element of material culture has long attracted the attention of researchers, there are still no general works in Ukrainian ethnography that would contain an analysis of the development of folk housing in individual ethnographic zones of Ukraine.
