2001 is the five-year anniversary of Russia's entry into the Council of Europe. On her entry, Russia joined the organisation facing the challenge of protecting the law, human rights, and freedoms on the Continent. It took many more of the countrie's commitments to develop her own legislation and harmonise it with the EC treatments and legal acts. Minding the above issues along with some other as requiring an in-depth analysis, the Autonomous Non-Profit “Human Rights Institute” Organisation initiated the International Conference to summarise the five-year cooperation inhuman rights which was held at the State Duma Blazonry Hall in Moscow.
