Basing on vast historical materials on the monuments of the Old Russian spiritual literature, the author presents the ideas of a medieval man about the world, soul, and salvation. The problems of “small” and “big” eschatology are presented in wide literary and cultural context of Old Russia. Special attention is paid to interpretation of specified eschatological questions. The author makes an attempt to comprehend the Old Russian literature and culture with the help of detailed analysis of the eschatological ideas reflected in it.
