The monograph is devoted to the description of units of rhymed slang reflecting various spheres of activity and roles performed by women. The authors made an ambitious attempt to present a comprehensive image of a modern woman, compiled on the basis of an analysis of rhymed slang materials. The appeal to rhymed slang materials is motivated by the desire to eliminate the emerging imbalance and obvious gender disproportion in the representation and coverage of the role and functions of women in works on rhymed slang, to reflect changes in the life of society in its attitude towards women, especially since the patriarchal values of Western society have given way to the idea of endowing women with equal social rights with men and their adequate representation not only in the political structures of society, but also in the structures of language. The authors consider it very interesting and instructive to find out which rhymes are dedicated to women, in what guises and what status they reflect women, what stereotypes associated with women are reflected and fixed in rhymed slang.
