The book tells about little-known events in the history of the city of Nadezhdinsk (Serov). It deals with cases falsified by the city department of the OGPU-NKVD-MGB for political reasons; hopes who became victims of terror unleashed by the authorities; as well as the methods of work of the investigative bodies and the most significant political processes affecting our city. The book concludes with a list of residents of the city and settlements included in the municipal formation "City of Serov", repressed under Article 58 of the RSFSR Criminal Code. Separate chapters of the book are devoted to the Transfiguration Cathedral, the life and life of the townspeople during the Great Patriotic War. Also, the reader will find here a chronology of the main events in the life of the city, a list of sources and literature on the history of Nadezhdinsk-Serov. The monograph was written on the basis of a wide range of archival documents, many of which were first introduced into scientific circulation. The book offered to the reader is the first attempt to objectively illuminate one of the tragic pages in the history of Nadezhdinsk (Serov).
