The problem of formation and functioning of ethnic identity of the population on the modern Ukrainian-Polish border is investigated, as well as the influence of modern political and socio-economic changes on the transformation of the identity of the inhabitants of the territories adjacent to the border and the role of the ethno-cultural factor in this process.
