Galina Karzhanevskaya was born in Sluchchyna in 1950. Graduated from BSU Faculty of Philology. She worked as a teacher in the Lagoi district, a journalist in the republican mass media, now in the field of culture. Member of the Union of Belarusian Writers since 1976. She has published many poetry books ("On the Language of Happiness", "The Bells of the Years", "Unspeakable", "Autumn Honey", "Vershanyati", etc.), several children's books and a collection of plays. "On the stage of the day" (2004). Lives in Minsk. Galina Karzhanevskaya's new documentary book "Pleschchanitsa. The Echo of the Past" is essentially a continuation of the previous edition of "Lahoyshchyna. Voice of memory" (2019). The writer collected a lot of information about the past of the former district center, especially about teachers and the school where she once worked. Her respondents are the so-called children of the war, whose memory absorbed a lot of pain, and peers whose worldview was shaped by the years of "developed socialism".
