The book reflects the memories of veterans of the student brigade movement. In different historical periods, they led the republican, regional, zonal and linear Belarusian student groups. Their memoirs make it possible to feel the spirit of the time, the geography and intensity of the work of the younger generation and the contribution of the student brigades to the socio-economic development of the country.
The new edition will complete the historical trilogy of books about the origin and development of the student brigade movement in the country and will be of interest to everyone who is interested in the history of Belarus. “Since 2020, the book “Student construction teams of Belarus: history and modernity” and a photo album of the same name have been published. The author’s project “Our Third Labor” continues to create an annals of the Belarusian student construction teams,” the headquarters commander noted. The book is illustrated with chronicle photographs from the National Archives, the Museum of the History of the Komsomol and the Youth Movement of Belarus, personal photos from the authors of the memoirs.
The Belarusian Student Movement will celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2023. The first student detachments went to the virgin lands in Kazakhstan in 1963. As a result of this working semester, 37 Belarusian students were awarded the medal "For the development of virgin and fallow lands." The movement gained momentum in the 70s and 80s. Today it is one of the leading activities of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union.
