Mottel the Cantor's son is the last novel by the Yiddish author Sholem Aleichem. It was unfinished at the time of his death. The novel was published in two separate volumes. The first was entitled From Home to America, relating to the protagonist's experience in Europe, and appeared in 1907. The second was named In America, chronicling his life in New York City, and written in 1916. They were printed on numerous occasions in various formats and with different orthographic conventions. The edition presents the Russian translation of the novel.
