Aleksey Gorbunov is a member of the Belarusian Literary Union "Polotsk Branch". He writes in the style of mystical realism, post-realism (like Marquez in One Hundred Years of Solitude.) Aleksey: “Minsk is a city that was almost completely destroyed during the war years, and then built up according to the Stalinist plan. The Soviet leader decided to build a "City of the Sun" on the ruins of the Belarusian capital. These plans were carried out systematically and on a grand scale. But then Khrushchev came to replace Stalin. The change of eras can be seen in the area of Chelyuskintsev Park: there the Stalinist building ends - and we see mass housing development. Under Khrushchev, the "City of the Sun" begins to lose its "sunshine". Meanwhile, Minsk, rebuilt in the post-war years, has its own energy, history and culture, which continue to influence the residents and guests of the city. I described Minsk with particular warmth, because for me it is one of the most beloved places in the world. I've been to different cities, but I'm always happy when I return." As a result of a mystical incident, the protagonist of the novel goes through a number of different stories and finds himself in ambiguous situations that put him in front of a difficult dilemma of choice, the choice between good and evil, between loyalty and betrayal, between truth and lies, between rightness and injustice. A dynamic plot and unexpected turns of the story, in which the Belarusian capital hovers like an invisible shadow, constantly spur intrigue, forcing the reader to tenaciously follow the course of events without losing interest in the content of the work.
