Vasyl Koroliv-Stary (1879–1941) was a well-known Ukrainian writer and public figure, one of the most prolific authors of Ukrainian emigration in the first half of the twentieth century, and the husband of the writer Natalena Korolyova. This edition contains his memoirs, published in Ukraine for the first time, about his own life, written shortly before his death ("Mentions of my death"), and two vivid memoirs about a close friend Simon Petliura, whom the writer knew since his studies at Poltava Spiritual school ("Ukrainian People's Hero Simon Petliura" and "From my memories of Simon Petliura").
