Cunderlik made his mark in the history of Slovak art in the late 1940s and 1950s with his figurative work, in the early 1960s as a participant in the Bratislava Confrontations, and in the late 1960s as a member of the Concretist Club. Since the 1960s, he exhibited together with male and female artists with a similar view of the direction of the art of that time, which, however, was in opposition to the idea of the socialist state apparatus about art, its forms and functions.
