Galina Pagutyak's work is shrouded in a special otherworldly feeling, the spirit of mountain legends and the mysticism of the Carpathians. It has very deep folklore origins, as it rethinks folk beliefs, orders and legends, addresses the theme of divination and the mysterious pages of history. The figure of the writer herself plays an important role in this. Halyna Pagutyak's biography is the story of a woman who comes from an ancient family, to which, according to legend, the legendary Vlad Tsepesh, known in culture as Vlad Dracula, belongs. Since childhood, the writer loved nature and reading, and from a young age began to actively create. Her first stories, which date back to the Soviet period, were not published in a hurry, but Halyna Pagutyak did not give up and stubbornly pursued her goal. The peak of her creative rise was in 1990-2000 and was appreciated by many literary awards, including the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine. In the historical novel "The Magnate" through the prism of the perception of the disadvantaged Volyn nobleman skillfully depicts the bizarre fate of the Ukrainian humanist of the early seventeenth century. Jan Schasny Herburt from Dobromil and understanding the borderline states of human existence, and in the novel-essay "Petrified Ship" in the numerous travels of the writer deeply reflects the history of finding yourself in the world - your own identity.
