Maciej Swiecicki was a professor at the Central School of Planning and Statistics in Warsaw, a doctor of law, a pioneer in the field of labor law, a co-creator of the first ever Polish labor code, a Catholic activist, social activist, teacher of extraordinary talent, a member of the Warsaw Club of Catholic Intelligentsia, a humanist, a genuinely Catholic living his faith, and finally a father of six of his own and of a tutor of four foreign children. The hero of the publication belonged to people who, guided by the principles of their faith, decided to live in opposition to the ruling system without publicity and ostentation.
