The Konstantinovsky Palace Ensemble in Strelno, succeeded by the Government’s Palace of Congresses is distinguished with a remarkable and symbolic history. The decision of Peter the Great to build a magnificent residence at the bank of the Gulf of Finland was accomplished in the process of prolonged projecting and construction work in the first quarter of the XVIIIth century. After 150 years of glory it was almost completely devastated during the revolution of 1917. The lost magnificence was restored at the beginning of the 3rd millennium.
