Prof. Khristo Trendafilov is one of the best researchers of life and work of the Bulgarian King Simeon and of the age he lived in. Trendafilov could be considered also as an expert in Old-Bulgarian and Old-Russian studies. His exceptional contributions are developments in the area of studies of medieval poetry and in semiotics of history.
In this book he turns to the importance of the figure of King Simeon as a Bulgarian ruler for the development of Bulgaria, to the symbolic wars with the Byzantine Empire, to the sources and methodology for their decoding, analyzing and interpretation in the lights of the medieval studies.
This work was awarded with the Bulgarian national award “Khristo G. Danov” in the area of Humanities in May, 2017.
