Rostislav Yurenev (1912-2002) is an outstanding researcher of the world and Russian cinema, a brilliant film critic, one of the most authoritative and favorite teachers of the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK). Due to his memoirs, a great many living and vivid images of such prominent people as S.Eizenstein, I.Pyriev, V.Sofronitsky, I.Grabar, A.Tarkovsky, Y.Smelyakov and others, with whom the fate brought Yurenev together, remained till the present day.
