The journal was published on the initiative of the scientific Board of the Magnitogorsk teacher's Institute and had the benefit of many contributors from a number of educational institutions. It is conceived as a team research on various problems of Russian and world history, philology and culture. Owing to the fact that the editorial board has not pursued unanimous approach to the collective endeavor, the articles cover a wide range of issues. However, the historical and cultural tendency of the research is a feature common to all of them.
