Maksimov Alexander Yakovlevich (1851-1896) was a captain of the 2nd rank, writer-marinist, one of the first writers of Primorye. Volume 1 of this collected works includes stories. Many of them were published more than a hundred years ago in the capital’s press, then included in the books of the mentioned Complete works. In the 2nd volume of the collected works of A.Ya. Maksimov included stories published in the magazine "Niva" and the complete works of the writer (1898-1902). In the third volume of the collected works of A.Ya. Maksimov is presented as a publicist. The book includes his essays, articles, correspondence, published at the end of the 19th century in periodicals and individual collections.
