The exhibition opened on February 14, 2008 in the Winter Palace is devoted to contacts of the Islamic world with neighboring cultures such as the European and Chinese ones. One of the main aims of the exhibition is to show the Islamic art in all its diversity as it is presented in the Hermitage collection. The scientific illustrated catalogue is prepared for the exhibition by the Hermitage orientalists (historians and philologists), art historians, archeologists.
