Till the end of the XIIIth century a choice of name remained the most important regulator of complicated and extremely involved dynastic relations in Scandinavia. The history of name in this epoch reflected the history of unions and oppositions, partitions and unification, struggle for power and co-existence of Christianity and paganism- in a word, almost the whole history of the peninsula. Thanks to the proposed book the reader has an opportunity to trace this history through the prism of names' choice for the members of royal clan in medieval Scandinavia.
