The author describes a little-known monument of ancient Russian iconographic art of the XVIIth century. The icons from the Virgin's Nativity Cathedral in Suzdal' are analyzed, dated and referred to the certain iconographic school. Several unique monuments of documentary writting of the XVIIth-XIXth centuries are published for the first time. The author also discovers and revives the name of Artemii Katunets - an icon painter of the XVIIth century.
