This publication covers one of the most heroic stages of Ukrainian history - the beginning of its State system and Armed forces revival in 1917 - first quarter of 1918. On the basis of abundant archive materials the whole process of formation and establishment of the UPR Army (the Army of the Ukrainian People's Republic) has been retraced. Its fight for state independence against Bolshevist Russia invaision was investigated as well.
