The history of the "scientific life" of the first doctor of economics, professor of the Irkutsk Financial and Economic Institute Vadim Nikolaevich Sherstoboev (1900-1963) is reconstructed. The focus of the essays, which were collected in the book, is his study of the history of the region's economy, the agricultural development of Cis-Baikal, the narrative of the processes of scientific creativity, research practices and their results.
